Like other payment collection systems, remote deposit capture (RDC) is governed by guidance, laws and rules that financial institutions must follow to manage risk and keep their RDC program compliant. Institutions are encouraged to report internally on the status of their RDC service, and both they and their customers must comply with anti-money laundering and terrorist financing laws.
This 60-minute RDC compliance training reviews the FFIEC guidance on RDC, Federal Reserve rules and ECCHO rules, how Check 21 relates to RDC, and the Uniform Commercial Code.
You'll also look at commercial and consumer RDC agreements, Regulation J, Regulation E for consumer items converted to ACH, the roles of Nacha and ECCHO, and lessons from Regulation CC.
WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?
RDC benefits institutions and customers, but it carries risks that the FFIEC guidance says need management attention. Scenarios on Regulation CC show implementation challenges, remaining issues and best practices for compliance.
