Managers increasingly need coaching skills, especially in performance reviews where they must give specific feedback and advice on how to improve. This 90-minute high-performance coaching webinar offers a systematic approach for managers who coach employees or teams.
Performance coaching tells workers how they should behave and what results they should achieve. Unlike non-directive coaching, which helps coachees reflect and find their own answers, it draws on the coach's experience to diagnose gaps between desired and actual performance and give clear advice. It is a key tool in performance management when results fall short or behavior doesn't match policy or expectations.
Based on the presenters' book High-Performance Coaching for Managers and their 70-plus years of combined HRD experience, the session walks through a step-by-step coaching model and applies it to typical job performance and behavioral problems.
WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND?
Coaching is a core management skill and part of talent acquisition, development and retention. According to Harvard Business Review (2015), workers expect honest feedback and specific advice from their supervisors, and when they are only asked for their views they may see managers as incompetent or insincere.
This session shows managers and supervisors, HR and HRD practitioners, coaches, consultants and business owners how to coach directively while drawing on non-directive methods for development.
